Which Country Will Host FIFA World Cup 2022

The FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place in Qatar in 2022. It will be the first time the World Cup is held in the Arab world and the first in a Muslim-majority country. The announcement was made on 2 December 2010 after the country defeated bids from Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the United States.

Qatar is a peninsula located in the eastern Arabian Gulf, bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south and west and by Bahrain to the north. The country has a population of 2.7 million people, making it one of the most populous countries in Asia. 96% of the population are Muslim, with the majority being Sunni.

As host of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar will be responsible for constructing stadiums and other infrastructure necessary to accommodate the influx of visitors during the tournament. Plans are already underway to build nine new stadiums and renovate three existing ones. A total of $200 billion will be spent on infrastructure projects in preparation for the World Cup.

Qatar Football History

Qatar has a long history with football, dating back to the early 1900s when the country was still a British colony. However, it was not until the 1970s that Qatar began to gain international recognition for its football teams. In 1976, Qatar made its first appearance at the Asian Cup and has since qualified for four World Cups (1986, 1990, 1994, and 2022).

The decision to award Qatar the 2022 World Cup was controversial, with many accusing FIFA of corruption. There is also concern about the working conditions of migrant workers in Qatar, as well as the country’s human rights record. Nevertheless, the 2022 World Cup is set to go ahead as planned and promises to be a historic event.

It will host the opening ceremony and match, as well as the final match of the tournament.
